Jim McGrath has built a career helping successful executives and officials just like you do it.

McGrath started his career at The White House, working as a staff writer and editor in the Executive Office of the President from 1991 to 1993. Today, he continues to serve President George H. W. Bush as his post-White House spokesman, and as President Bush's speechwriter he produced hundreds of speeches, statements, and video presentations in dozens of foreign countries and most of the 50 U.S. states.

From 1997 to 1998, Jim served as Deputy Press Secretary for George W. Bush’s re-election campaign for Governor of Texas. McGrath has counseled numerous political candidates at the local, state and federal levels; and written dozens of speeches, op-ed pieces, annual reports and website materials for business and civic leaders.

Simon & Schuster published Jim’s first book, Heartbeat: George Bush in His Own Words in 2001. McGrath then assisted David Kearns, the widely admired former Chairman and CEO of Xerox Corporation, with his personal memoirs entitled Crossing the Bridge. Jim next helped Doro Bush Koch research, write, and edit the 2006 book, My Father, My President: A Personal Account of the Life of George H. W. Bush. Most recently, McGrath co-wrote former Commerce Secretary Robert A. Mosbacher, Sr.'s family memoirs Going to Windward, which Texas A&M University Press published in 2010.

In 2003, Jim produced and scripted “Hope and Remembrance: The 50th Anniversary of the Korean War Ceasefire,” a $600,000 documentary project aired in Seoul in July 2003 at the official Korean Government ceremonies marking that milestone. McGrath has produced dozens of radio and TV ads as well as corporate videos.

Since 2006, McGrath has teamed with Chris Begala to leverage their unique experiences and contacts helping clients achieve their strategic communications objectives. Together, Begala and McGrath have over half a century of media, writing and political experience.

McGrath serves on the advisory boards of the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation and Theater Under The Stars (TUTS) in Houston. He is married and has three mostly wonderful children.
