The Houston Chapter of Young Catholic Professionals (YCP) will gather Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. for its Executive Speaker Series (and Christmas Extravaganza!), featuring Carmen Garrett Armistead, Head of School at St. Pius X High School.
All young adults in their 20s and 30s in any profession or industry are invited to this free event with free beer, wine and appetizers. Dress for this event is business casual (with Christmas flair)! We hope to see you there!

Carmen Armistead came to St. Pius X High School after holding multiple administrative roles over a span of 11 years at The American School in England (TASIS) including Head of Upper School, Director of Development and Alumni Affairs and Counselor.
Prior to moving to England with her husband, George, Carmen was a member of the administration at St. Agnes Academy in Houston first as Guidance Counselor and then Dean of Students.
Carmen began her career as an English, speech and theatre teacher in the Houston Independent School District. She served as the Director of Youth Ministry for St. Francis de Sales Catholic Community and Director of Religious Education for St. Cecilia Catholic Community in Houston. Carmen then became the Associate Director of Continuing Education for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
Carmen is an active member of the Dominican Family in Houston and has served on the Leadership Team for five years. She worships both at her neighborhood parish, All Saints Catholic Church, and with the Dominican Sisters of Houston at their Motherhouse Chapel. She was an active member in the Charity Guild of Catholic Women before assuming her role at St. Pius X High School and serves as a board member for Partners in Mission: Our Lady of Grace School Development Fund.
Carmen has two grown sons, Joshua married to Samantha living in Austin, and Joseph living in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has one perfect and precious 16 month old grandson, Beckett, who lives with his parents, Josh and Sam, in Austin and two adorable puppies, Grace and Winston who reside with Carmen and George in the Heights of Houston. Carmen received her undergraduate degree in English, Speech and Theatre from The Ohio State University and her graduate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston.
